DHAKA: In our society, people tend to have a heightened sense of eagerness to be an ambassador of goodwill during the holy month of Ramadan. It is in this backdrop that the Robi TVC makes an appeal to the people to extend a helping hand to the community using the power of internet.
Robi’s especially themed TVC on Ramadan highlights the fact that Internet does not only mean selfies, likes, downloads and uploads. It rather gives us the power to come together for doing something meaningful for people around us.
The powerful message strikes a common chord with the people in this blessed month of Ramadan as during this time spirituality pervades all sphere of our society creating an environment of goodwill all around us. This is certainly a time befitting message for the citizens of an increasingly digital society.
The TVC depicts a scenario where the children identifying a physically challenged child, takes to the internet to discuss about ways to make the child’s life a little more comfortable.
Eventually, they came up with a simple solution of creating a ramp on the stairs allowing the wheel-chair bound child to roll down to the field to be part of the rest of the children in the community.
Using the theme of helping the underprivileged children through some responsible online activism only provides the backdrop for the core theme of the commercial which is to harness the power of internet for making positive difference in the society.
The children who resorted to internet for helping an underprivileged child are shown as role models for the rest of the society.
One may argue that people these days are very self-centered. But internet is allowing us the platform to collaborate among us to make a positive difference in the society.
Given the fact that the society is increasingly adopting digital platforms to stay connected, the TVC gives a very time befitting message for the society.
