DHAKA: Telenor Group CEO, Sigve Brekke, was in Dhaka on August 8 on a short trip to Grameenphone.
The Telenor Group CEO conducted several internal meetings at GPHouse, the Grameenphone headquarters, at Bashundhara.
He visited the new innovation centre, set up at the GP corporate head office and held a Town Hall meeting with Grameenphone employees, said a press release on Wednesday (August 10).
Speaking at the Town Hall, Brekke strongly reiterated Telenor’s commitment to Grameenphone and Bangladesh. He stressed that the network was key to supporting Grameenphone’s digital ambitions in Bangladesh.
“Digitization will impact everyone and everything across the markets Telenor Group serves, and large companies like Grameenphone play a key role in enabling digital innovation and entrepreneurship,” he said, adding that GP remains ahead because it continues to lead the market with innovation and actively plays a leadership role in the creation of digital platforms that have become instrumental in seeking out and bolstering the start-up eco-system in Bangladesh.
As testimony to the ongoing drive for innovation, the Telenor Group CEO was also at hand to inaugurate Grameenphone’s new digital self-care channel MyGP, that would change the way GP customers use their connection and make it simpler for them to operate their account efficiently and extract the best value.
Grameenphone CEO, Rajeev Sethi, and other members of the Grameenphone management team were also present at the Town Hall with the Telenor CEO.
