Digital World-2016 begins Oct 19 in Dhaka

DHAKA: Digital World 2016, a three-day mega ICT event of Bangladesh, is scheduled to begin at International Convention City Bashundhara (ICCB) in the capital of Bangladesh from October 19.

Forty ministries will showcase their activities in the event.

Finance minister and also Digital World advisory committee president AMA Muhith made the disclosure after holding a meeting at his secretariat office in city on Monday (September 19).

Earlier in the day, the committee began its meeting around 10:30am.

Industries minister Amir Hossain Amu, commerce minister Tofail Ahmed, housing and public works minister Engineer Mosharraf Hossain, information minister Hasanul Haq Inu, railway minister Muzibul Haque, state minister for Science and Information & Communication Technology Yafes Osman, state minister for ICT affairs Zunaid Ahmed Palak and Bangladesh Association of Software and Information Services (BASIS) chairman Mustafa Jabbar, among others, attended the meeting.

Bangladesh will organize the event to showcase the country’s achievements in ICT sector, to provide a platform for free-flow of ICT related ideas and to share knowledge with global ICT experts for achieving Vision 2021.
