Basis president Mostofa Zabbar underscored the need for creating leadership in ICT world as the country has a big chunk of youths who have merits.
He made the remark in the concluding ceremony of the country's largest private sector ICT exposition titled BASIS SoftExpo 2017.
The curtain of the four-day exposition fell at Bangabandhu International Conference Center though a gala event - Leadership Meet.
Post & Telecommunication State Minister Taran Halim and Information & Technology State Minister Junaid Ahmed Palok attended the leadership meet as special guests. Senior vice present of BASIS Russel T Ahmed moderated the event. Besides, BASIS president Mostofa Zabbar, former president of BASIS Samim Ahshan, Incepta chairman and managing director Hasnin Muktadir, Reev System CEO M. Rejaul Hassan, PRAN-RFL chairman & CEO Ahsan Khan Choudhury, BASIS Software Expo 2017 platinum sponsor microsoft , Bangladesh Ltd. MD Sonia Bashir Kabir and BASIS director and Basis Software Expo 2017 convener Syed Almas Kabir also addressed the function.
Among others in the closing function nBTRC chairman DR. Shahjahan Mahmud, BASIS vice president M Rashidul Hassan, director Uttam Kumar Pal, Mostafizur Rahman Sohel and Riad SA Hossain. Besides, former Basis leaders, government and no government officials and journalists were present.
State Minister Tarana Halim said that to achieve the vision of the government 2021 ICT and Telecommunication are playing important roles. ICT and Telecommunication is the complementary of another. Within next December Bangabandhu Satellite will be in the orbit. The 75 percent work on the satellite is complete. Though this satellite the whole country will be brought under the network connectivity.
ICT State Minister Junaid Ahmed Palok said that by 2021 we will be able to export ICT 5 billion dollar . It needs skilled man power. We are working to build up skilled man power along with building infrastructure.
Basis president Mostofa Zabbar said that we want to give leadership in ICT world. Merit is our raw materials. A big chunk of youths have that merit.
We can earn several times more foreign currency if we can send ICT skilled programmers like labors. For this we are to introduce digital education in stead of convention education system. Convener of the exhibition Syed Almas Kabir said that more than a lakh visitors came this time in the fair. From now on this type of fair will be arranged every year.
In the function special contribution in the ICT first woman Syeda Mustafiz and former Basis director recently died Mahmudur Rahman was given award (posthumus). Besides, former president of Basis Habibullah N Karim was given life long award.
Moreover Reeve systems was adjudged as the best pavilion and Info fort was adjudged best in the mini pavilion category while Bright Technologies was adjudged as the best stall.
Objectives of this year’s Soft Ware Expo:
Basis Soft Expo regularly has been arranging from 2002 with the aim of developing communication technology, innovation, research, successful implementation and for sustainable and acceptable Information technology. This year’s fair was its continuation. However this year’s fair was far more rich from the perspective of the need of the country.
Besides, local software companies many foreign software organizations participated in this year. BASIS Software Expo was attended by students, government and non government officials technology interested people and representatives of print and electronic media.
The whole fair area was divided into four zones- business software zone, ITES and mobile innovation zoneand e-commerce zone. For expanding business Information technology there was local and International match making session. There was business lounge as more advantages. More over the mentionable events were Leaders Meet, Developer conference, Tek women conference including other sessions. Coding program was arranged for the children.
Twenty seminars were held this year. The seminars included making level playing field for the local companies, didgital education, e-learning, mobile application development, development of export market, Internet of Thinks, access to finance, cloud computing, data network security Developing innovation ecosystem, digital service delivery, IT market research and quality certification.
Technical session:
Ten technical sessions were held this year on several sides of information technology. This session was held in the Green View hall. These included API exchange, cross platform game development, encryption on cloud data, the importance of UI/UX in mobile and game application, cyber security in the background national and international, easy tactics in the server management to simplify the on line payment, digital marketing for developing business, to increase customer’s service and accounting BPO: dormant subjects.
International B2B:
To boost export of software and IT service there was arrangement of business to business matchmaking. Netherlands, Demark and at least ten foreign companies sat separately with fifty local companies. Through these sittings it is expected that in the coming days they will be able to enhance business.
Entrepreneurship career in IT:
To provide jobs to the interested persons in IT there was arrangement of ‘Entrepreneurship and career in IT. With the help of Basis Students Forum some top level organizations participated to skilled manpower. In that program the learners, job seekers were provided with developed career guideline. Some experienced speakers gave various guidelines.
