DHAKA: Private mobile operators GrameenPhone, Robi, Banglalink and Airtel got the Third Generation (3G) mobile-phone services licenses in the much-awaited auction.
The auction took place at Ruposhi Bangla Hotel in the capital on Sunday.
Grameenphone bagged the 3G license for 10 MHz spectrum while three other operators got it for 5 MHz each.
The bid price of the 3G license was Tk 160 crore per MHz with 15 years of validity period.
The 3G service will help operators provide their users different services including high speed wireless internet, TV output and video conference.
