DHAKA: Following the app-based taxi and bike ride services, now the city commuters are going to experience the first ever autorickshaw service moderated by smartphone application.
‘Goti’, bearing the tagline ‘lets go’, is all set to operate the autorickshaw service from the first day of 2018.
Goti CEO N Jaman Chowdhury James told Banglanews that they are going to hand over the CNGs to 2,000 drivers initially.
AHM Mostofa Kamal, Managing Director (MD) of the app-based CNG provider, said that the CNG owners will have smartphones in which ‘Goti’ app will be installed.
Besides, data of the rides will be registered at the website of app.
The interested drivers can get enrolled their names from 21-31 December.
“It’s an app-based service, not a ride-sharing one”, said the CEO.
“The customers who don’t have the app on their android phones also could avail the service. They have to ride the CNG maintained by ‘Goti’ whereas the trip will be registered from the mobile phone of the driver”, he added.
The passengers can pay the fare through e-wallet and cash, in both means.
However, the cost will be amounting similar to the CNGs at present, he added further.
