DHAKA: Prime Minister's ICT Affairs Adviser Sajeeb Wazed Joy said Fifth generation mobile network service will be launched in Bangladesh if Awami League government elected in the next election.
Sajeeb Wazed Joy, also Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s son, made the remarks after inspecting the experimental exhibition of the 5G technology in city’s Sonargaon hotel on Wednesday (July 25).
The 5G test launch was jointly conducted by mobile phone operator Robi, Technology Company Huawei and Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Council (BTRC).
Earlier on February 19, mobile operators like GP, Robi, Banlalink launched Fourth Generation (4G) internet service in country after acquiring license. However, state-owned mobile operator Teletalk has not launched 4G yet despite having the license.
