DHAKA: Posts, Telecommunications and Information Communication Technology (ICT) Minister Mustafa Jabbar said ICT lab and multimedia classrooms will be set up at every educational institution of the country within next two years.
To implement this goal, it is necessary to train teachers to be familiar with digital education.
Mustafa Jabbar said, “The existing professions are getting extinct everyday. Therefore, it is imperative to learn technology-based knowledge to cope with competitive world.”
The minister was addressing a function at Bangladesh Computer Council (BCC) auditorium of ICT Tower on Sunday (November 18).
The minister distributed laptops to the best trainees and educational institutions.
The laptops were given under two projects- ‘Learning and Earning’ and ‘Computer and Language Training Lab set up in all Educational Institutions of the Country.’
Mustafa Jabbar said, “Our new generation is very talented. They need to be taught ICT knowledge from the start of their educational life. Digital skills for people under 40 will be a challenge to learn.”
Mustafa Jabbar stressed the importance of compulsory ICT education at primary level of the education system.
Secretary of Information Communication Technology Juyena Aziz presided over the function while Secretary of Posts, Telecommunications Ministry Shyam Sunder Shikder attended it among others
