DHAKA: Online knowledge sharing firm Quora is now available in Bengali, a move that will allow about 300 million speakers of the language to engage on the platform.

The formal launch came after a trial run since December 2018.

Launched in English in 2010, the question-and-answer platform already supports languages like Spanish, French, German, Italian, Japanese and Hindi.

Quora was founded in 2009 by Adam D’Angelo, former CTO of social networking giant Facebook.

“Quora has been launched in Bengali to share and enhance knowledge,” said it’s Founder Adam D'Angelo.

Quora’s Bengali Community Manager Mrinal Bhatyacharya said it will increase the circumference of knowledge practice and wisdom of Bengali-speaking people in a great way.

“QuoraBangla will play great role to expand knowledge, science and information among the Bengali-speaking people,” said Jahid Hossain Khan, a Quoraian from Bangladesh.

However, the service can be used by browsing https://bn.quora.com and installing Quora’s app in smartphone.

Questions are asked, answered, edited, and organized by its community of users in the form of opinions in the Q&A based platform.
