DHAKA: Over 200 porn websites were blocked in Bangladesh following an order from Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission (BTRC).

International Internet Gateway (IIG) and Internet Service Provider (ISP) organizations were directed on Wednesday (Feb 6) to implement the order.

The sites also include YouTube based pages having pornographic contents.

The sites had been blocked as part of cyber security, said Internet Service Provider Association of Bangladesh (ISPAB).

The move came into effect following a longstanding discussion to ban porn sites, said an ISPAB official.
