DHAKA: The local electronics giant Walton is going to produce five best smart refrigerators of global models.
The features include innovative design, quality, capacity, reasonable rates and advanced tecknology with the target of grabbing a remarkable portion of potential electronics markets of the world.
SM Ashraful Alam, managing director of Walton Hi-Tech Industries Limited (WHIL), made the announcement while addressing an inaugural session of the 3-day-long “Walton Conference-2019” at the WHIL’s Headquarter in Chandra of Gazipur on Tuesday (March 12).
Alam said, “Walton is the fastest growing manufacturing companies in the global electronics industries.”
The global market size of refrigerators is nearly USD 80 billion and the Bangladeshi brand Walton has a greater opportunity of grabbing a remarkable portion of such a potential world’s market, he mentioned.
“We (Walton) set a target of becoming the world’s leading electronics company within the next 10 years. To make this target successful, we will manufacture world’s best five models of smart fridges, which would be 500 to 700 liters of capacity,” he noted.
This year, Walton targeted to sell out two million units of fridges in the local market. Already, sale of our fridges in the first two months surpassed the target of the respective months, saying that it he called upon all the stakeholders who made great effort for achieving the target before the end of the year.
The three-day-long conference was inaugurated with the slogan of ‘Together we can change the world.’
The event was also attended, among others, by Walton Group’s Executive Directors Eva Rezwana, Amdadul Haque Sarker, Alamgir Hossain Sarker, Yusuf Ali, Mohammad Rayhan, SM Zahid Hasan, Humayun Kabir, Golam Morshed, Amin Khan, President of International Business Unit Edward Kim and Chief Technical Officer Md. Yan.
More than six thousand businessmen from all over the country are taking part in the three-day-long business conference of the local brand.
The inaugural session of the conference was moderated by film actor Amin Khan where nearly two thousand distributors and area managers were present.
The participants visited the production units of different sorts of electronics, electricals, home, ICT and Industrial Solutions.
Uday Hakim said, the global electronics business is very challenging. Technological changes are happening quickly. Walton is preparing itself to lead the world by adopting and quickly responding to the technological changes.
Some best distributors were awarded at the inaugural session of the conference for their outstanding performance.
