DHAKA: Information Minister Dr Hasan Mahmud said publicity of BNP is more on televisions, radios and newspapers than Awami League (AL).
“Ruling AL does not get such coverage in media as the BNP does despite staying outside the parliament,” he said when replying to a query from a journalist as he attended a function at National Institute of Mass Communication (NIMCO) auditorium on Thursday (April 4).
Prior to this, the minister addressed a certificate distribution and prize giving ceremony, as the chief guest, organized by the Bangladesh Film and Television Institute (BFTI) at the NIMCO auditorium in the city’s Darus Salam area.
In connection with a remark of BNP Secretary General Fakhrul Islam Alamgir that they do not get publicity on TVs for more than one-two seconds, Hasan said he (Fakhrul) just took around one minute to say this on TV.
The minister added that BNP talks to media for two times almost every day and holds brief briefing, yet they claim that they are not allowed to talk.
National Institute of Mass Communication Director General Shahin Islam, BFTI Director Maruf Newas and course director M Hamid also spoke at the function, among others.
