DHAKA: A three-day long first ever Digital Device and Innovation Expo-2019 will kick off on October 14 at Bangabandhu International Conference Center (BICC) in city’s Agargaon area.
Bangladesh Hi-tech Park authorities, Information and Communication Technology Division, Bangladesh Computer Samity (BCS) and Idea project will jointly organise the expo in the capital.
The expo was announced at a press conference at the Janata Software Technology Park building in the capital's Karwan Bazar on Friday (September 13).
Prime Minister's ICT related Advisor Sajeeb Wazed Joy will attend the programme as a chief guest.
At the press conference, State Minister for State ICT Zunaid Ahmed Palak said that the students' innovation will be given importance in the expo. Besides, the domestic companies that produce technology products will have separate zones.
“Digital Bangladesh today is not a dream but a reality. We are all enjoying the benefits of digital Bangladesh. We are also advancing on the highway of development by continually enriching ourselves with changing technology”, he added.
BCS President Md Shahid-ul-Munir highlighted the planning of the expo elaborately through a PowerPoint presentation.
The three-day expo will be open to all from 10am to 8pm. Visitors will allow to enter this exhibition for free, but they must register online or spot-registration.
