DHAKA: Dr Md Rafiqul Matin has been made Managing Director (MD) of Bangladesh Telecommunications Company Limited (BTCL). 
 
He took his office as MD in BTCL on Sunday (November 3), said Mir Mohammad Morshed, General Manager (Public Relations and Publications) of BTCL.

Prior to that Rafiqul Matin has served as Deputy Managing Director of BTCL and Project Director of the 'Cyber Threat Detection and Response' project under the Additional Directorate of Telecommunications.
 
Dr Rafiqul Matin, a BUET graduate, joined at former Bangladesh Telegraph and Telephone Board (BTTB) as assistant divisional engineer under Telecom Cadre of 9th Bangladesh Civil Services’ (BCS) Batch of 1991.
