SANGSAD BHABAN: Post, Telecommunication and Information Technology Minister Mostafa Jabbar said the government planned to set a target for launching a second satellite, known as Bangabandhu Satellite-2, to the orbit by 2023.
The minister said this while responding to a starred question made by Anwar Hossen Khan of Lakshmipur-1 in the House on Thursday (February 6).
The Speaker DrShirin Sharmin Chaudhury presided over the session.
Bangabandhu Satellite-1 was launched from Kennedy Space Centre in Florida, USA on May 11, 2018.
After launching the satellite, Bangladesh is now a member of an elite club comprising of only 57 states that own at least a satellite.
