Bangladesh has advanced eight notches in the global cyber security index measured by UK-based National Cyber Security Index (NCSI).
Bangladesh ranked 65th with a score of 44.16 among 160 countries in the index.
In the 2018 Index, Bangladesh ranked 73rd with an overall score of 25.97.
Bangladesh ranks second among South Asian countries and India is in the best position with an overall score of 59.74, and the index ranks 35th.
Among the other countries in the region, Pakistan is 66th, Nepal 93rd, Sri Lanka 98th, Bhutan 115th, Afghanistan 132nd, and Myanmar 139th.
The NCSI put the countries in the ranking after measuring their preparedness to prevent fundamental cyber threats and readiness to manage cyber incidents, crimes and large-scale cyber crises.
Greece has been placed on top of the ranking with a score of 96.1 while Czech Republic ranked 2nd securing score of 92.21 and Estonia ranked 3rd with score 90.91.
