Remittance inflow hits $1.25 billion in first 16 days of November

Bangladesh received $1.2551 billion in remittance during the first 16 days of November, according to data released by Bangladesh Bank on Sunday (Nov 17). 

The data shows an average daily remittance inflow of $78.445 million during this period, compared to $79.836 million per day in October and $64.346 million per day in November last year.

While November's remittance is higher than the same period last year, it is slightly lower than October's daily average.

A breakdown of the data reveals that $420.7 million came through state-owned commercial banks, $81.46 million via Krishi Bank, $749.75 million through private commercial banks, and $3.22 million via foreign commercial banks in the first 16 days of the month.

Among individual banks, Islami Bank recorded the highest remittance inflow during the period, receiving $203.29 million.
