DHAKA: Germany, currently the second top export market for Bangladeshi goods, will be the top, commented Bangladesh commerce minister Tofail Ahmed.
The minister made the comment at secretariat in city on Thursday afternoon.
Earlier on the day, the minister held a meeting with visiting German state minister for labor and social affairs Jorg Asmussun.
After the meeting, Tofail said Bangladesh is working to create new markets for its new products not being limited to the readymade garments (RMG) exports.
Expressing his happiness, the minister said that market for Bangladeshi goods is gradually being created in several developed countries.
The commerce minister said that Germany will be importing medicines, ships, leather and ICT products from Bangladesh.
Germany, which is now the second largest marker for Bangladeshi products, will be the top, the minister said.
Remarking Germany as a longtime friend, the minister further said that the country has extended its support in the fields of development and commerce.
He expected that the export to Germany will be 50 billions by 2021.
