Stocks witness fall Thursday

DHAKA:  Investors witnessed minor fall in benchmark indices of the country’s bourses on Thursday.

DSEX, the broad index of Dhaka Stock Exchange, shed over 10 points only to stand at 4933 at the close on the last trading day of the week.

Trade deals stood at 65,102 with volume of transactions at Tk 1368 million.

Of the issues traded, 117 advanced, 148 declined and 41 remained unchanged.

SAPORTL topped the turnover list with shares worth Tk 78 million having changed hands.

The other turnover leaders were QSMDRYCELL, GP, BDTHAI, WMSHIPYARD, SQURPHARMA, AGNISYSL, BEXIMCO, TUNGHAI and HFL.

Chittagong stocks also followed the suit, with the CSE Selective Categories Index climbing down to 9256 by dropping over 33 points.

Out of the issues traded, 53 gained, 133 declined and 32 remained unchanged.
