ACC summons Detco manager

DHAKA: Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) has asked Detco Group manager Faruk-uz-Zaman to appear before the commission within December 24 to face grilling.

The anti-graft body, however, summoned the Detco manager to look into the group owner Moosa bin Shamsher’s alleged hoarding money earned illegally.

Sources said a notice, issued on Sunday and signed by the commission’s deputy director Mir M Zainul Abedin Shebly, carried the summon.

Nevertheless, Moosa bin Shamsher, featured as cover stories of The Sunday Telegraph Magazine (London) and many other business magazines, including Business Asia, revealed that he has accumulated wealth worth about USD 7 billion.

Considering the reports published in the international media about his lifestyle, income and income sources, the national anti-graft body on November 3 decided to look into the matter.
