DHAKA: Like every year, the Dhaka International Trade Fair, the largest exposition participated by local and foreign entrepreneurs, is going to be kicked off in city’s Agargaon on January 1 in 2015.
The Ministry of Commerce is organizing the 20th International Trade Fair where some 14 countries are participating.
Parliamentary standing committee on Ministry of Commerce sources informed that Pakistan, India, USA, Thailand, Australia, Singapore, Turkey, UK, Iran, Malaysia, China, UAE, South Korea and Germany applied to join the fair.
Some 41 organizations of the 14 countries are going to participate in several categories.
A meeting was held in this regard in parliament building on Sunday.
However, the fair will be continued from January 1 to January 31.
The entry fee is fixed Tk 30 for adult people and Tk 20 for minors.
A total of 324 stalls will be set up at the fair, including 81 pavilions and 51 mini-pavilions. There will be nine restaurants for the fair-going people.
‘Bangabandhu and Bangladesh’ pavilion
The meeting sources also said like every year a pavilion will be installed titled ‘Bangabandhu and Bangladesh’ to project the history of liberation war, contribution of Bangabandhu on war and after liberation war development of Bangladesh.
80 CCTV cameras for security
To secure the visitors and stall owners from any subversive situation, the authorities are installing 80 close circuit (CCTV) cameras.
Machineries, carpet, cosmetics and beauty aids, electrical and electronics, jute-made products, leather, leather goods and footwear, sports goods, sanitary wear, toys, stationary, watch, jewelry, ceramics and other goods.
