Stocks end lower Wednesday

DHAKA: Country's stock market marked fall in its price indices on Wednesday.

 DSEX, the prime index of Dhaka Stock Exchange, shed over six points only to stand at 4,963 at the close on the fourth trading day of the week.

Trade deals stood at 82419 with volume of transactions at Tk 2978 million.

Of the issues traded, 148 advanced, 120 declined and 43 remained unchanged.

LAFSURCEML topped the turnover list with shares worth Tk 175 million having changed hands.

The other turnover leaders were DESCO, MJLBD, BXPHARMA, SAIFPOWER, AGNISYSL, HFL, WMSHIPYARD, ALLTEX     and SQURPHARMA.

Chittagong stocks also followed the suit, with the CSE Selective Categories Index climbing down to 9,192 by dropping over 16 points.
 
Out of the issues traded, 98 gained, 111 declined and 38 remained unchanged.
