Stocks witness fall Sunday

DHAKA: Investors witnessed sharp fall in the benchmark indices of the country’s bourses on Sunday.

The DSE broad index shed over 38 points to stand at 4,917 at the close on the first trading day of the week.

Trade deals stood at 72160 with transaction at Tk 2,524 million.
   
Of the issues traded, 68 advanced, 208 declined and 30 remained unchanged.

CVOPRL topped the turnover list with shares worth Tk 96 million having changed hands.

The other turnover leaders were IDLC, BBS, AGNISYSL, LAFSURCEML, SAIFPOWER, ALLTEX, GP, PHARMAID and JMISMDL.

Chittagong stocks also followed the suit, with the CSE Selective Categories Index climbing down to 9137 by dropping over 63 points.
 
Out of the issues traded, 44 gained, 159 declined and 23 remained unchanged.
