Stocks witness fall Monday

DHAKA: The country’s both bourses--Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) and Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE)--witnessed fall in the share price indices on Monday.

DSEX, the broad index of DSE, shed over eight points to stand 4708 at the close of second trading day of the week.

Trade deals stood at 10997 with transaction at Tk 327.73 million.

Of the issues traded till then, 129 gained, 131 declined and 47 remained unchanged.

CNATEX  topped the turnover list with shares worth Tk 171 million having changed hands.

The other turnover leaders were BRACBANK, GP, NFML, ALLTEX, LAFSURCEML, DESCO, SAPORTL, SPCL and GSPFINANCE.

Chittagong stocks also followed the suit, with the CSE Selective Categories Index climbing down to 8742 by dropping over 26 points.

Of the issues traded till then, 77 gained, 125 declined and 29 remained unchanged.
