DHAKA: The Federation of Bangladesh Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FBCCI) will hold silent rallies from Teknaf to Tetulia to make a way out from the continuous economic loss due to the ongoing political unrest.
FBCCI president Kazi Akram Uddin Ahmed said this after a board meeting in the city on Sunday.
He said the businesspeople are mostly being affected and the transport sectors have already suffered a huge loss due to the current political unrest.
Moreover, the country will fall into a deep crisis if the wheels of country’s economy remain stuck.
So, the businesspersons have decided to call on Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia to solve the turmoil, the FBCCI president added.
He also said the leaders of chamber organizations and traders will hold silent rallies, to be led by FBCCI, from Teknaf to Tetulia carrying the national flags and chanting ‘save country, save economy’ slogan.
FBCCI first vice-president Monowara Hakim Ali and vice-president M Helal Uddin were also present at the board meeting.
However, the schedule of meetings and rallies are not fixed yet. But, the decision was expected to come in the afternoon after the meeting with former and current leaders of the business organization.
