DHAKA: Bangladesh Export Processing Zone Authority (BEPZA) decided to build dormitory for female workers in every Export Processing Zone (EPZ) to solve their housing problems as per the directive of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.
The decision came from BEPZA directorial board meeting chaired by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and also BEPZA chairperson at PMO in city on Wednesday.
The meeting also decided to rebate taxes of Union Parishad for EPZs.
The abandoned areas adjacent to Adamzee EPZ will be given as lease to the investors who will manufacture jute products.
Finance Minister AMA Muhith, Industries Minister Amir Hossain Amu, Shipping Minister Shahjahan Khan, Foreign Minister Abul Hassan Mahmood Ali and Planning Minister AHM Mustafa Kamal were present at the meeting.
Moreover, Labor and Employment state minister Mujibul Haque Chunnu, Home Affairs state minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal, Power, Energy and Mineral Resources state minister Nasrul Hamid Bipu, Bangladesh Bank governor Dr Atiur Rahman and Board of Investment chairman Dr MA Samad were among others present at the meeting.
However, BEPZA executive chairman Major General Habibur Rahman highlighted different aspects of the organization.
