DHAKA: The amount of inflow of remittance in the first week of February was US $265 million, said the latest report of Bangladesh Bank on Saturday.
The report shows that the expatriate Bangladeshis sent $92.6 million remittances through four state-owned commercial banks - Agrani, Janata, Rupali and Sonali, while $4.32 million through four state-owned specialized banks.
The remittance came through the private commercial banks was at $164 million while foreign banks received $4.33 million only.
However, $1234 million was received as remittances in January.
Currently, the country has $22 billon reserve, which will be well enough to meet the import expenditure for seven months, said the report.
