DHAKA: The Bangladesh Bank (BB) is set to raise a fund of USD 500 million to boost the country’s export sector.
BB governor Dr Atiur Rahman came up with the announcement about formation of Export Development Fund (EDF) at a seminar at PRI (Policy Research Institution) office in city’s Banani area on Saturday.
The PRI, a private research institution, organized the seminar.
In the seminar, Dr Atiur Rahman said people, who want to invest in any environment friendly project, can apply for loan from the USD 500-million Export Development Fund.
He added: “Investors of readymade garments and leather sectors will also be eligible for the loan from the fund.”
