No certificate case against farmers

DHAKA: Bangladesh Bank directed authorities of banks not to file certificate case against farmers for agro-loan.

The central bank also asked authorities concerned to reschedule the loan and withdraw all cases filed against farmers.

Deputy Governor of Bangladesh Bank SK Sur Chowdhury gave the directives at an urgent press conference at 12:30pm Monday.

On Dec 23 last year, the central bank relaxed loan rescheduling terms for agricultural and industrial sectors considering the losses caused by the political unrest.
