Bourses see fall Wednesday

DHAKA: Key share price indexes at both Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) and Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) witnessed negative trend on Wednesday, the fourth trading day of the week.

DSEX, the prime index of the DSE, went down to 4,742.00 points by 2:30pm, starting from 4,801.00 points in the morning despite some ups and downs round the day.

However, top 10 gainers of country’s major bourse of the day were NTLTUBES, LIBRAINFU, GLAXOSMITH, RENWICKJA, ICBAMCL2ND, BSCCL, 4THICB, ICB1STNRB, POPULAR1MF, and, ABBANK.

Nevertheless, MJLBD topped the turnover list with shares worth Tk 185.46 million having changed hands.

The other turnover leaders of DSE were SQURPHARMA, LAFSURCEML, ACI, BSCCL, SPCL, SINGERBD, AAMRATECH, SAPORTL, and BEXIMCO.

On the other hand, the port city bourse, CSE, also saw down trend round the day with its Selective Category Index, CSCX.

The index, which was in 1,081.60 points at 10:30am, went down to 1,071.75 points while closing the day’s trading.
