BENAPOLE (JESSORE): Loading and uploading of goods in Benapole land port will remain open 24 hours.

The port authorities have made the decision to ease the congestion of goods-laden trucks at the port area. 

However, currently the port is being operated from 8:00am to 8:00pm, increasing the time from 11:00am to 6:00pm.

Sources from port and customs authorities said the export and import activities have been hampered due to hartal, blockade, work abstention and other issues, resulting congestion of goods-laden trucks at the port area and financial loss for the businesspeople.

According to a recent decision, the loading and unloading works at the port will remain open 24 hours until the country’s political situation improves.

On February 28, goods of 345 trucks were imported from India.

Revenue official of Benapole check-post customs cargo section Qamaruzzaman confirmed the matter to banglanews.
