DHAKA: A two-day Global Cotton Summit Bangladesh-2015 will begin in city on March 20 aiming to provide information about cotton market to the apparel entrepreneurs.
Textiles and jute minister Emaz Uddin Pramanik will inaugurate the summit, to jointly be organized by Bangladesh Cotton Association (BCA) and Bangladesh Textile Mills Association (BTMA), at hotel Radisson.
Besides, Federation of Bangladesh Chambers of Commerce and Industries (FBCCI) president Kazi Akram Uddin Ahmed, Bangladesh Garments Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA) president Mohammad Atiqul Islam and Bangladesh Knitwear Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BKMEA) president AKM Selim Osman, among others, will be present as special guests at the inaugural session.
The organizers arranged a press conference at BTMA conference room in city’s Karwan Bazar area on Thursday in this regard.
They hoped that a good number of high-ups related to cotton trade and owners of spinning mills will attend the summit.
About 250 representatives from 20 countries are expected to participate at the event, the organizers added.
