DHAKA: Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina hoped more Spanish investment in energy-power, ICT, telecommunications, shipping and infrastructure sectors of Bangladesh.
She expressed the hope to outgoing Spanish ambassador Luis Tejada Chacón as the envoy made a courtesy call to the premier at Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) in city on Thursday.
PM’s press secretary AKM Shamim Chowdhury informed the matter to media after the meeting.
At the meeting, the envoy said that some Spanish companies have shown their interest in Bangladesh infrastructure sector. Companies, which have already invested here, are also interested in infusing more money.
Thanking Bangladesh government for its cooperation during his tenure, the envoy said that he had passed a nice time in Bangladesh in past four years.
He also praised Bangladesh for its development in socio-economy and infrastructure sectors in past four years.
The envoy also mentioned the importance of strong cultural relations between the two countries.
Moreover, Chacón conveyed Spanish PM’s greetings to Bangladesh premier while the Bangladesh PM expressed greetings to her Spanish counterpart, said the PM press secretary.
