DHAKA: Investors witnessed significant fall in benchmark indices of the country’s bourses--Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) and Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) -- on Thursday.
DSEX, the Broad Index of DSE, shed over 60.73 points only to stand at 4192.20 at the close on the last trading day of the week.
Trade deals stood at 99223 with volume of transactions at Tk 3776.76 million.
Of the issues traded, 62 advanced, 221 declined and 21 remained unchanged.
UPGDCL topped the turnover list with shares worth Tk 470.76 million having changed hands.
The other turnover leaders were BSCCL, KPCL, WMSHIPYARD, MHSML, ACI, SAPORTL, IFADAUTOS, SQURPHARMA and SAIFPOWER.
Chittagong stocks also followed the suit, with the CSE Selective Categories Index climbing down to 7815.00 by dropping over 142.16 points.
Out of the issues traded, 30 gained, 177 declined and 15 remained unchanged.
