DHAKA: Commerce Minister Tofail Ahmed said country’s opportunity in readymade garment (RMG) sector is booming as the global top apparel exporter China has recently paying attention to other sectors.
The minister was addressing a function organized by German multinational software corporation SAP (Systems, Applications & Products in Data Processing) at The Westin hotel in city on Tuesday.
Tofail said that Bangladesh will become a middle-income country by 2021. Paying more concentration on information technology (IT) will pave the way to more advancement.
Apparel businesspeople needs to use the booming opportunity for Bangladesh, he opined.
German ambassador in Dhaka Thomas Prinz and Exporters Association of Bangladesh president Abdus Salam Murshedy, among others, were present at the function.
