DHAKA: Investors witnessed significant gain in the benchmark indices of the country’s bourses--Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) and Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) -- on Sunday.
DSEX, the Broad Index of DSE, rose over 154.72 points to stand at 4277.05 at the close on the first trading day of the week.
Trade deals stood at 129821 with transaction at Tk 5208.14 million. Of the issues traded, 289 advanced, 17 declined and three remained unchanged.
UPGDCL topped the turnover list with shares worth Tk 509.61 million having changed hands.
The other turnover leaders were ACIFORMULA, MJLBD, SAIFPOWER, IFADAUTOS, ACI, SPCL, RAKCERAMIC, WMSHIPYARD and KPCL.
Chittagong stocks also followed the suit, with the CSE Selective Categories Index climbing up to 8010.88 by gaining over 293.54 points.
Out of the issues traded, 236 gained, seven declined and three remained unchanged.
