DHAKA: Columbus Coffee Shop has been opened in city’s Banani area with the taste of famous US brand Crimson Cup Coffee for the local coffee lovers.
The inaugural ceremony was held on Friday with the presence of actors Ananta Jalil, Afiea Nusrat Barsha and Nursat Imrose Tisha, singers Shayan, Arnob, Rashed Uddin Ahmed Topu, Tahsan Rahman Khan, Diti Anwar and filmmaker Gazi Mazharul Anwar, among others, were present.
‘Columbus Coffee Shop’ chairman Mirza Abdul Khaled, managing director Mohaimin Mostafa, director Sarfaraj Anwar Upal, Tarek Rafi Bhuiyan and Ayesha Rawshan Bhuiyan were also present at the event.
According to the organizers, ‘Columbus Coffee Shop’ became the country’s first franchisee of Crimson Cup Coffee.
Located on an area of 2,000 square-feet, the coffee is served in a self-service system. Coffee-lovers can taste three types of it – Espresso, Over Ice and Frozen.
‘Crimson Cup Coffee’ vice-president Steve Belles displayed the preparation of best roasted coffee at the function, briefing about the features of the coffee.
Customers can enjoy coffee either standing or sitting at any corner of the shop. There is also a selfie corner to take snaps there.
Besides, there are arrangements for deserts like pastries and parcel system to take beans at homes.
The shop, however, features Wi-Fi facilities in its entire area for the customers.
Rehanur Rahman, one of directors of the coffee house, said, “The manager and the customer service workers were sent to America for trainings. For this, the coffee at this shop is served in an environment matching with the American culture. This has ensured taste with style of high glamour”.
According to the release, the owners will open their branches in Dhanmondi, Uttara and Mirpur of the city and also in Chittagong, Sylhet and Cox’s Bazar soon.
The coffee house will remain open from 11:00am till midnight at the house No. 25, (1st floor), road No. 11, block- H, Banai, Dhaka.
