Stocks end lower Tuesday

DHAKA: Trading on the country’s two bourses – Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) and Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) –marked fall in share-price indices on Tuesday.

DSEX, the key index of DSE, shed over 12.15 points to stand at 4627.17 at the closing of the day.

Trade deals stood at 176493 with transaction at Tk 8357.04 million.

Of the issues traded, 123 advanced, 156 declined and 36 remained unchanged.

Top 10 gainers of the DSE were KPCL, ACIFORMULA, UPGDCL, MJLBD, ACI, BEXIMCO, BSCCL, SAIFPOWER, BSRMLTD, and RAKCERAMIC.

Khulna Power Company Limited (KPCL) topped the turnover list with shares worth Tk 683.79 million having changed hands during the time.

Chittagong stocks also followed the suit, with the CSE Selective Categories Index climbing up to 8712.72 by gaining over 52.45 points.

Out of the issues traded, 134 gained, 90 declined and 29 remained unchanged.
