Stocks witness fall Wednesday

DHAKA: Investors witnessed minor fall in benchmark indices of the country’s bourses--Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) and Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) -- on Wednesday, the fourth trading day of the week.

DSEX, the Broad Index of DSE, shed over 11.04 points only to stand at 4616.12 at the close of day’s trading.

Trade deals stood at 171656 with volume of transactions at Tk 8424.90 million.

Of the issues traded, 73 advanced, 219 declined and 19 remained unchanged.

KPCL topped the turnover list with shares worth Tk 562.30 million having changed hands.

The other turnover leaders were BEXIMCO, BSCCL, UPGDCL, ACI, SAPORTL, SAIFPOWER, SPPCL, ACIFORMULA and GP.

Chittagong stocks also followed the suit, with the CSE Selective Categories Index climbing down to 8709.24 by dropping over 3.47 points.
 
Out of the issues traded, 58 gained, 174 declined and 15 remained unchanged.
