DHAKA: Budget session of the 10th Jatiya Sangsad (JS) will begin on Monday.
The sixth session of this tenure of Awami League-led government is scheduled to begin at 5:30 pm, with Speaker Shirin Sharmin Chowdhury in the chair.
Prior to that, the duration and proceedings of the session would be finalised at parliamentary business advisory committee around 4:00pm.
Earlier on May 11, President Abdul Hamid summoned the session according to clause (1) of article 72 of the constitution.
Jatiya Sangsad senior secretary (leagal) Nazmul Haque told banglanews Finance Minister Abul Maal Abdul Muhith would place national budget for 2015-16 fiscal year at 3 pm on June 4.
Two days after the Budget placement, the supplementary budget fo 2014-15 will be passed in the parliament. After discussion, the finance bill is expected to be passed on June 29. Then budget for 2015-16 fiscal year will passed on June 30, the senior secretary added.
According to Parliament's legal branch, three bills were submitted to place in the budget session. These are Tea Workers' Welfare Fund bill, the Supreme Court Judge Behavior bill and National Export Promotion Bureau bill.
In April, Finance Minister Abul Maal Abdul Muhith hinted that the size of budget for 2015-16 fiscal might be around Tk 3,00,000 crore.
Earlier, the fifth session of Jatiya Sangsad was held between January 19 and April 2.
