DSE, CSE up at opening

DHAKA: Share price indices at the country’s both bourses --- Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) and Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) -- witnessed positive trend in early hour’s trading on Monday, the second trading day of the week.

DSEX, the key index of the DSE, gained by 58.81 points or 1.28 per cent to 4645.76 after the first one-hour of trade at 11:08am.

Trade deals stood at 40184 with volume of transactions at Tk 2582.42 million.

Of the issues traded till then, 166 advanced, 44 declined and 24 remained unchanged.



KPCL was the most traded stocks with shares worth Tk 547.06 million changing hands till then followed by SUMITPOWER, BEXIMCO, BARKAPOWER, SPPCL and BBS.

The port city bourse – Chittagong Stocks Exchange (CSE) – also witnessed gain in early hour with its Selective Category Index losing 92.33 points to 8746.44, at 11:03am.

Of the issues traded till then, 27 gained, 24 declined and six remained unchanged.
