DHAKA: Turnover at the Dhaka Stock Exchange, the main bourse of the country, has crossed Tk 10 billion on Monday, after eight months.
Mutual funds and shares worth Tk 10023.39 million (10.02 billion) changed hands at the main bourse before close of trading on Monday.
On Monday, the volume of turnover exceeded that of Sunday’s Tk 7884.193 million.
DSE turnover above the Tk 10 billion mark was last recorded on October 14 last year when it was Tk 10.97 billion.
Besides, the Broad Index of Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSEX), rose over 36.67 points only to stand at 4623.63 at the close of trading on Monday.
Trade deals stood at 182751 with volume of transactions at Tk 10023.39 million.
Of the issues traded, 155 advanced, 116 declined and 48 remained unchanged.
KPCL topped the turnover list with shares worth Tk 1,027.83 million having changed hands.
The other turnover leaders were SUMITPOWER, GP, BEXIMCO, SAIFPOWER, BARKAPOWER, SPPCL, UPGDCL, LAFSURCEML and MJLBD.
