Stocks end lower Tuesday

DHAKA: Share price indices at the country’s both bourses – Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) and Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) – fell down in closing hours of the trading on Tuesday, the third trading day of the week.

DSEX, the Broad Index of Dhaka Stock Exchange, shed over -28.30 points only to stand at 4513.98 at the close of day’s trading.

Trade deals stood at 113235 with volume of transactions at Tk 4,677.03 million.

Of the issues traded, 128 advanced, 143 declined and 41 remained unchanged.

United Airways (BD) Limited (UNITEDAIR) topped the turnover list with shares worth Tk 463.09 million having changed hands.

Tuesday’s top gainers were UNITEDAIR, BEXIMCO, KPCL, SUMITPOWER, UPGDCL, BXPHARMA, LAFSURCEML, AFCAGRO, ACIFORMULA, and BSCCL.

Chittagong stocks also followed the suit, with the CSE Selective Categories Index climbing up to 8451.2145by gaining over -8.37 points.

Out of the issues traded, 72 gained, 121 declined and 38 remained unchanged.
