DHAKA: Visiting Dutch foreign trade and development cooperation minister Lilianne Ploumen opened a seminar on ‘Sustainable Wet Processing’, as part of the Bangladesh Water PaCT: Partnership for Cleaner Textile program, in city on Tuesday.

Bangladesh garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA) president Mohammad Atiqul Islam and Frouke Bruinsma of G-Star, among others, were also present at the event.

Working with over 100 textile factories, the program facilitates uptake of cleaner production measures across the textile industry resulting in a sustainable and competitive industry, said a press release.

It is implemented by the International Finance Corporation (IFC) together with Solidaridad, and is supported by leading international brands, the BGMEA and the Netherlands embassy, the release added.
