Stocks start week on positive note

DHAKA: Key share price indices in the country’s both bourses - Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) and Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) - began the week in positive on Sunday.

Trading at both DSE and CSE began on positive trend this morning and ended the day with minor gain.

DSEX, the Broad Index of DSE, rose over 15.28 points to stand at 4615.19 at the close on the first trading day of the week.

Trade deals stood at 113424 with transaction at Tk 5537.54 million. Of the issues traded, 138 advanced, 138 declined and 34 remained unchanged.


ACI topped the turnover list with shares worth Tk 824.60 million having changed hands.

The other turnover leaders were LAFSURCEML, GP, ACIFORMULA BXPHARMA, BEXIMCO, KPCL, IFADAUTOS, UNITEDAIR and HEIDELBCEM.
 
Chittagong stocks also followed the suit, with the CSE Selective Categories Index climbing up to 8645.25 by gaining over 18.38 points.
 
Out of the issues traded, 94 gained, 117 declined and 35 remained unchanged.
