RAJSHAHI: Rajshahi Krishi Unnayan Bank (RAKAB), a bank for agricultural development in Rajshahi region, achieved Tk 32-crore as profit on 2014-15 fiscal year after suffering losses for consecutive 10 years.
RAKAB sources said that in the past fiscal year, they planned to distribute loan of Tk 1,500 crore while the loan collection was Tk 1,800 crore.
Moreover, the classified loan rate was decreased below 25 percent.
In this regard, the bank distributed Tk 1,536 crore, which was 102 percent of the plan. It also collected Tk 1,827 crore, which was 102 percent of the target.
Moreover, they become successful to limit the classified loan rate at 20 percent from 35 percent.
These achievements were made through several activities, like, loan fair, loan collection camp, opening new saving accounts and so on.
By achieving the target, the financial backbone has become stronger and other banking activities have been swift.
They became successful to achieve the profit as the bank authorities motivated the RAKAB officials and made them aware about their responsibilities.
The bank’s public relation department issued a press release in this regard on Wednesday.
