DHAKA: Swan Garments Ltd authorities decided to resume their production after paying dues to employees and workers by July 28.
The decision came from a meeting of a committee under supervising of labor ministry held in Shrama Bhaban in city Thursday afternoon.
After the meeting, committee convener and also inspector general of factory and organization inspection Syed Ahmad told media about the matter.
The workers of Swan Garments have been observing abstention program from July 12 demanding their due salary and bonus of four months.
Then on July 8, the labor ministry issued a notice forming a nine-member committee in this regard.
Committee convener Syed Ahmed said the staff members will get the dues from January to March and the workers will get dues of April.
The committee also asked Islami Bank to resume the factory production with addition loan.
Committee member and also home affair ministry joint secretary AK Mafizul Haque, trade ministry deputy secretary M Akhlasur Rahman, industries ministry joint secretary AKM Rafiqul Islam, among others, were present at the meeting.
