DHAKA: Seven vocational training institutes on Information Technology (IT) will be built in the country within the tenure of incumbent Awami League (AL)-led government.
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s Information and Communication Technology (ICT) affairs advisor Sajeeb Wazed Joy made the announcement while inaugurating 500 mobile applications in Bangladesh Computer Council (BCC) auditorium in city’s Agargaon area on Sunday.
For the first time, the mobile apps have been developed based on government information, service and creative concept.
Announcing the establishment of the vocational training institute, the chief guest of the program Joy said the country is developing swiftly for the relentless work of government officials.
AL government is thus contributing to take Bangladesh to the list of middle income nations, he added.
Joy also said that an international standard railway station centering the Kaliakoir Hightech Park will be constructed costing Tk 60 crores.
Moreover, he mentioned that the US president Barack Obama Saturday acknowledge Bangladesh as a ‘Digital Country’.
State minister for ICT Zunaid Ahmed Palak also spoke at the event, chaired by ICT secretary Shyam Sundor Sikdar.
