AirAsia CEO arrives in Dhaka

DHAKA: Popular budget airline AirAsia Berhad chief executive officer (CEO) Aireen Omar arrived in Dhaka on a two-day visit to join the inaugural ceremony of Dhaka flight.

The program will be held at Pan Pacific Sonargaon hotel in city around 6:30pm on July 30.

AirASia general sales agent (GSA) in Bangladesh Total Air Service Limited (TAS) will organize the event.

Aireen has been the AirAsia Berhad CEO since July 1, 2012. She is also an executive director of the airliner.

She joined AirAsia in 2006 and is now in charge of corporate finance, treasury, investor relations and fuel procurement.

However, AirAsia has been operating flights to over 62 destinations everyday with around 7,000 staff members under her direct supervision.

Aireen Omar won several awards including Outstanding Achievement (CEO Category) of Malaysian Women of Excellence 2014 and Masterclass Women CEO of The Year of Selangor Excellence Business Awards 2014.

Industries minister Amir Hossain Amu, civil aviation and tourism minister Rashed Khan Menon and Malaysian high commissioner to Bangladesh Norlin Othman will attend the inaugural program.
