Paal Samity president, secretary sued

DHAKA: Anti Corruption Commission (ACC) filed a case against president and general secretary of Paal Samity situated in city’s Rayerbazar area for embezzlement of Tk 2.60 crore.

The ACC deputy director Abdus Sattar Sarkar filed the case with Mohammadpur Thana accusing president Biswanath Paal and general secretary Sukhen Kumar Paal.

ACC deputy director (Public Relations) Pranab Kumar Bhattacharya confirmed the matter to banglanews.

The case statement said the duo embezzled Tk 2.60 crore from the trust which is a religious and service-oriented organization making fake voucher of land sell and lease.

The case was filed under section 5 (2) of Corruption Prevention Act 1947 and section 409/109 of penal code as the ACC found evidence against them.
